My cheap ass 1911 (a Norinco I bought used when I was a student - it's primary value is that my purchase of it pre-dates a bunch of legislation limiting gun ownership) has fire control parts that while they work fine at the moment, the manufacturer isn't what I'd call top tier. (Used Israeli parts that I, of course, got cheaply. ) So if you're willing to ship the parts (I could pay for the shipping) overseas, I would feel better with more trustworthy parts in my gun.
Or would that violate the aggravating ITAR stuff you have over there? In my country those parts would be legally equivalent to, say, a toothbrush (only major firearms components are regulated over here).
