    New Hornady 6mm ARC cartridge

Interesting new cartridge. Hornady seems to be killing it lately. Rumors are that it has been adopted by an "unnamed DOD entity". Good marketing at the very least.

Anyone have any experience with it yet?

I think I still prefer the 6.5 Grendel. More energy, and as far as I can tell better performance out of a 16” barrel.

A very promising cartridge, time will tell if Hornady does a better job of introducing this than Federal did with the Valkyrie.

Unfortunate that it requires special magazines of varying and reportedly iffy quality (worst of all, no Magpul offering), but such is life.

    New Hornady 6mm ARC cartridge

The e-Lander 6.5 Grendel mags from AA are very high quality. Much more robust than any metal 5.56 AR mag I’ve tried, with the exception of HK.

In an AR, I'd be more into a 6.8-based cartridge, of which there have been a 6mm wildcat or two. Smaller case head means stronger bolt. And for serious purposes, I'd worry about the less-reliable feeding associated with Grendel and other steeper shoulder angle cartridges in a semi-auto. But I'm probably not the target market for this cartridge anyway.

My AA 6.5G 16" middy has been excellent. I haven't had feed issues with 17 round mags, and schwacking 24" steel with authority at 1150yds with an AR is so cool.

    How about a 12.5?

The mention of the slice of DoD adopting makes me crazy when they're going to this new 6.8. Crazy only in that I'd want to invest in a non 5.56 upper for a caliber with legs of longevity. This 6mm ARC sounds more appealing to me than the rest.
