Hurricane Season 2020

I didn’t evacuate and lived to tell the tale. We lost power about 5:15 pm. Super hard rain until I fell asleep about 10:30, wind was pretty feisty, gusts to about 100 mph. Luckily any trees that might have fallen had already been taken out by Laura. No apparent additional damage to the house, even the tarps are still intact. The generator is back on duty.

Delta looks right now as though it will hit near where Laura did.

While the landfall points were close, the trajectories were different enough that areas much further east of Lake Charles took heavy storm conditions this time. Lake Charles didn't need anymore, Laura was already too much.

I hate that map.

There isn't any town named Cape Fear around here. There is a river with that name, but no towns. The river stretches from north of Fayetteville all the way to Bald Head Island.

It always bugs us when NHC issues a warning either starting from, or ending at Cape Fear NC.

Looks like I'd better change the oil in the generator...

...or not. Current path has it making landfall in eastern LA/western MS. Two hurricanes in one season are enough, thank you very much.
