While I have a ton of Pmags, from every generation, I'm still a metal mag guy. Magpul parts have updated alot of the old, but unused mags. New mags of quality don't need modification, in my experience
I think it has more to do with stuffing .300BO into 5.56mm mags. Oh, I know that .300 is supposed to work in any standard AR mag... but then we have Magpul coming out with a specific .300 magazine. Things that make you go hummmm. Not all of the various bullet profiles work in all mags with .300... solution: use mags that work in your gun.
I have never once had a problem with a USGI type 20rd mag that was the magazines fault. And the 20rd followers are specifically designed to tilt because of the straight body of the magazine. Thats a feature, not a bug.
