I assume that is the St. Louis incident? I watched that last night on KMOV. Driver was surrounded by protesters, some he alleged who flashed guns at him. Looters were simultaneously breaking into the back of his truck while demanding he stop as there was someone caught under his rig. At essentially the same time, an Amazon semi tractor trailer was looted as well.
Protesters blocked off a portion of Highway 70, and some truckers tried to use sidestreets to go around and they got caught in a protester roadblock.

Edit: Crowd around the corner from us - they moved onto the highway and are looping back. Fortunately, their departure from the area gave CPD and the University PD a chance to beef up presence in the area. The street they are trying to target is 1-block south of me (and was the scene of some looting last night). It is a major, recently developed, area of the neighborhood. And has a lot of businesses.
From what I saw in the video, I don’t blame the driver - not one bit. I for one will be giving wide latitude to anyone charged with a crime while defending themselves if called for jury duty.
You are on your own in many jurisdictions. Nobody is coming to save you and this is basically The Purge only several nights in a row.

The Union has already stepped in and said that on-duty police motorcycles won't be used for the funeral procession. What they can't stop is the funeral home hiring off-duty officers to handle the escort. No doubt they won't have a problem finding someone to run that escort if they're paying enough money.

Sacramento apparently doesn't understand the point of a curfew. It's not targeting the fish, it's targeting the water they swim in. Fewer crowds to blend in to, fewer potential victims, more open streets for faster response times, etc.

I actually have a problem with that. Where the fuck does the union get off making that decision? If the chief orders it, as distasteful as they may find it, they damn well should do it. It’s not an illegal or immoral order. Floyd didn’t kill cops. His family sure as fuck didn’t kill cops. We have to do shit all the time that we may not like. Who actually enjoys making sure the KKK doesn’t get their asses kicked at Klan rallies? I know I didn’t but that was the order of the day.
