CZ vs 1911 on the moon. Or something.

In a world overflowing with CZ 75s in a myriad of variations who needs a 1911 in 9 mm?

There’s just something about 1911s man; if you get the addiction, you just love them. And while I understand the logic of your statement, you could also state the reciprocal. In a world full of 9mm 1911s, who needs a CZ? I imagine the answer to both questions would be the same.

ETA; I’m ignoring the capacity disparity.

We are talking about a real 9 mm gun here... not a 45 neutered to 0.355"

In a country overflowing with 1911s, and everything else, for that matter, why not have a 1911? As someone pointed out, CZs weren't always available here. There are things about the HiPower that I just don't like. A LW 9mm Commander is pretty enticing as a carry gun.

Those with baby-sized hands who have a hard time reaching the trigger on the DA/SA variants or those who dislike the thumb safety options on the SA guns.

True, if you want cocked and locked, CZ thumb safeties aren’t as easy to manipulate for those with smaller hands and / or shorter thumbs.
