Well, not a full $3K, but, $2629.95, with the Texas sales tax of 8.25%, so, close enough to consume 29 Benjamins.
Then, it must me fed. I am still working on building a meaningful amount of any one defensive load of 300 AAC/BLK ammo, for my DDM4V7P.
I am not (yet) ready to sacrifice the DDM4V7P, in a trade, for credit, or, a sale to an individual, to get a Rattler. I have been well and truly stung by trader’s/buyer’s remorse, in the past.
I have been looking at the evil-bay, for pre-owned Filson bags, similar to Craig’s. I might try toting one of those, loaded-up with a relevant amount of weight, to see if it would be meaningfully more portable, and lower-profile, than my Eberlestock Big Trick pack, which can swallow up to a 26.5” long gun, without having to extend the weapon sleeve’s “tail.” Well. OK, yes, a Filson Bag would be lower-profile, due to its elegance, in spite of its ruggedness.
One problem is that evil-bay sellers tend to be really proud of pre-owned Filson bags.
Retar’d LE. Kinesthetic dufus.
Don’t tread on volcanos!
I bought this basic one a while back at this same price point. I like it a lot but for a laptop/tablet, you need to a padded cover or the brass zipper teeth will scratch them up.

ETA: Looks like there's only one left.

I think that one is just a bit smaller than mine. Mine is the 258 Padded laptop bag. I've had it since '05 and it's my primary carry-on/flight bag.

I don't know why I had not looked at Crimson Trace sooner, but they have a smallish looking rail mount laser that looks workable for replacing irons with an alternative sighting system.

Also this looks interesting. This would actually allow you to activate the laser with the firing hand. Not sure how well this works but it's innovative.

TLR-RM1 anyone?
Hopefully it's made out of aluminum unlike the Insight lights of similar design.
Just light, no laser (haven't had any good experiences trying to use lasers during the day) but it is small, slim, and should provide ergonomic switching on the Rattler top rail.
