What’s the best mount for Scout lights? Looking at the LaRue Tactical picatinny Offset as I’ve heard m-lok mounts don’t work on the Rattler (interference under the handguard), yet I’ve seen many with just that. What’s the word?

Here’s mine w the Larue offset, 18350 Modlite body and DF head. To keep it slim, I sometimes run the X300 or even a Scout on the top rail directly. I have the MI handguard and a couple of the Mlok slots aren’t usable, but some are. I prefer a QD solution, again to keep it as small and light as possible. I keep a light in the bag just in case.

    Thank you.

Do you have room for a tape switch and/or BUIS with the LaRue offset? I like the QD idea.

You could fit a tape switch on top where I have the short ladder panel. Probably not enough room for a front BUIS unless I moved the red dot back. There’s not a lot of real estate to work with here, I am running BUIS free and liking it...

I’ve always liked the S&S Precision body. Keeps everything close and compact.

Wow - they’re very proud of them- $150 strikes me as a lot for a light mount, although they look like good stuff.

Yea I try to buy the SF head and tailcap separately if possible. But the S&S bodies are extremely well made and durable.

Seems like the new SureFire Scout Pro line would obsolete those bodies for 1913 attachment? Either way, the Pro line seems pretty money, and could definitely steal some of the aftermarket mount market.

Maybe. I have one of the 600 DF Pro's, came with a MLOK and Picatinny mount. I'm not sold on how secure the adjustable mount is though. That'll take some time and beating it around to find out.

For Rattler in a Bag - No light, but a pistol light in the bag, slapped on the rail at 12. Right now it's a TLR-1, but I think I'm going to switch to an XC1, for both a lower profile light and battery commonality (I'll be mounting an Aimpoint CompM5b hopefully before the end of the year).

For Rattler in the under bed safe - I'm setting up the long SD handguard with a Streamlight Pro-Tac 2 and tape switch, for all the lumens. Right now in the house, I'm running the LARP'er can, but I have plans to replace it - Coming Soon™.
