    Craig, you’re my hero.

RE: Mounting in the backpack. I ordered some moderately thick polymer and wide hook and loop velcro to cut and make my own mounting sheet (since my backpack is a non-standard form). Nothing against Ruck Customs products here, I just figured I'd go DIY giving me more leeway in futzing around with stuff. If my DIY version sucks (potential), I'll order a custom Ruck Customs, but I wanted to fuck around on my own for a minute.

I'm opting for DAP accessories, they seem a little simpler and lower profile over the Greyman stuff.

I'm opting for 4x spare 20s and a 20 rounder in the gun, giving me a 100 rounds. That + pistol and 1-2x spare pistol mags, is either going to get me the fuck out of whatever I got into...or I'm jolly well fucked in the bad way.

That collapsible sledgehammer is pretty fucking awesome...I'm probably not going to opt for entry tools in my bag for two reasons.

    1) There is a lot of hard cover in my area and glass that can be smashed to give me access faster than a pry tool.

    2) Pry tools/hammers/entry tools can be construed as burglary tools and Illinois has some nasty clauses for increasing charges when there are burglary tools + facial coverings + firearms - even on simple things like "trespass". As in, "He had burglary tools, a gun, a face mask, and was 'trespassing' in a city park after closing time - and therefore we're going to charge him with felony trespassing."

Never mind that I had a mandatory face mask due to 'rona, and the gun and entry tools are perfectly legal. Oh and I wasn't trespassing, I was walking through a park at 11:01pm, which is technically past the closing time of 11pm, sorry I forgot to check my fucking watch...

Here we go, the tool to complement the PDW; breach a wall, with some level of protection from live wires:

Edited to add: RMJ calls this one a “tomahawk,” which is going to ruffle more legal feathers than an axe or a hammer. RMJ used to make limited runs of Little Bird “crash axes,” and may make more, in the future.

On breaching, I carry a couple of breach pens for cutting through metal and a Winkler axe. Would love the ti pry bar but it looks like they don't sell to the public. I also have a couple of smokes.

On the sledge how does that effect the way the bag carries over a couple of miles? I think I found the sledge. It's $500.

Just in case anyone doubted the wisdom and logic of our lawmakers, I can conceal a .300 BLK rattler pistol legally in my state but the hawk would be a felony 🙄

The sledge is from a former 5th Grouper called Double Tap. Dude was a master breacher and this sledge was gifted to me as a T&E.

So, both YVK and Talionis told me tonight to come check out what Craig is up to in this thread. Gone from simple larping to serious tools. No disrespect to his shooting, but if Craig came after me with that hammer, I don’t know what I would do.
Likes pretty much everything in every caliber.

I can’t remember the last time I got this nerdy about a gun!
