Colt Side Sling Mount

I have a recently purchased BCM SOCOM Carbine Gas 16 inch upper. I put the magpul handguard on there but I'm looking for a solution to mount my sling. Being carbine gas there is only so much space to grip the hand guard so I was trying to avoid mouting the sling there. I wanted a Colt side sling mount that used to come on the M4's but they are esspensive and hard to find. I am currently just using the bottom sling mount with some paracord attached and that seems to do OK but was looking for a better option. Does anybody have any suggestions?

A BFG Universal Wire Loop works pretty well there. Wrap it around the barrel where the FN/Colt M4 side sling mount goes and live happily ever after. When done right, you can rotate it under the FSB for righty or lefty low ready carry without removing it.

I drill the MOE HGs just forward of the Delta ring for an inserted QD socket, I just did another one yesterday. What attachment are you looking to use?

If it's the MLOK handguard, a MLOK GQ mount on the rearmost 9 oclock should work well.

Alternatively, I've taken to mounting slings using Zipties through MLOK slots as I had a QD swivel fail.

I have a couple of Colt 6920 carbine length rifles in the back of the safe with MagPul hand guards. I use the MagPul paraclip at 9 o'clock just in front to the delta ring. The paraclip mount sweeps back towards the rear of the gun, giving my hand more room than if I were using a QD mount in the same M-Lok slot.

I've been using a Midwest Industries light mount that clamps on the front sight tower and puts a section of pic rail and a QD sling socket on both sides of the tower. I've had it on my work carbine for a few years and am happy with it.

I use MagPul SL hand guards as they give me a little more real estate to work with and I use a WOTG Proctor sling with the loop around the back of the hand guard.

Or around the front between the FSB and hand guard.
