glock 43x slide feels gritty

I check out a couple glock 43x today and when you work the slide back and forward they both felt gritty. Is that normal and does it smooth out some with used?

Mine is young, and it still feels gritty. Nowhere near as smooth as my G5G19's.

I think they get better after you shoot them a bit. I think in general the smaller autos feel more gritty than a full sized. My 43 and 48 started out with a little funk, but now are very smooth. I will add though even with the funk, they ran 100%.

I handled one today at a LGS and jimminy crickets the trigger was heavy. If I get one Im going through a stack of them and pick the one with the best trigger and Ill be sure to check the slide action too.

I did not notice any grit on mine, racking to chamber a round or otherwise.

My silver slide 48 is the same way. Shoots fine though.
