Thread: Need some wood.

    Need some wood.

    Not the kind from Cialis.

Some nice wood. For a round butt, blued k frame 3" incher. I'd like something really dark like ebony.

What are the available options? I don't want to spend more than $500

My current favorite is Spegel. He is still making grips, but with long lead times. A lot of his grips show up on ebay. Pricing should be well within your limit. He uses a lot of cocobolo, some quite dark. Here’s a pair I have on a square butt 2” model 10:

    You can get them checkered.
The first indication a bad guy should have that I'm dangerous is when his
disembodied soul is looking down at his own corpse wondering what happened.

Not long ago, back in the mid-sixty's, I had Harry Lawson (then of Tucson) stock a barreled action for me. During the process much wood was trimmed off. I'd imagine that contemporary stock makers would be happy to provide you with some of their odd pieces.

Alternatively, there are exotic wood providers who might have smaller pieces in stock. One example is below:

    Good luck.

Another pair of K frame RB Spegels, this pair is extended a bit:

His regular boot grips don’t extend below the frame. Pretty sure these are cocobolo as well.

    Just rub it in!

:::edited to add::: If you don't have those mounted I'll give you a fair price for these.

Unfortunately, I don’t own that pair.

Anyone know of a custom grip or stock maker in Texas?
