It's hard to tell from pictures, but does the Wharncliffe Delica have a straighter handle-to-blade profile than the standard Delica? I'm asking because I prefer knives that work well for me in forward and reverse grips, and downswept blades don't.

Here’s a comparison, with my red lines added. I think it’s an optical illusion. The overall geometry is similar.

I think you’re right. I think they’re the same but it’s an illusion.

Bet the wharnie is a nasty cutter. This new Endela is a laser.

I'm now liking the sheepsfoot on the Salt2 lc200n even better than the Wharn. I have some long-term international travel coming up that includes diving/snorkeling. Hopefully, I can use that as an excuse to have one in less knife-friendly places.

If you go somewhere that doesn’t allow a lock on the knife, I have a (I think that’s what it’s called) Pingo. You can use it wherever you’re going, let me know.

I dug out a FFG Delica 4 and compared them. Interestingly (to me, anyway), the very tip of the Wharncliffe is not that much lower than the tip of the regular FFG blade... though it is a bit lower.

Darn it, that had me fooled, to the point where I was thinking about buying one.

    Thanks for posting this.
