Yep. This has happened to me. Mid-mag, lock back. Thumb rides the ledge on the front half the lever and pushes it up during recoil. it even did it to me during the Rangemaster qual in front of Tom during EDP last year

Haven't had it happen in a while, so maybe my thumbs are trained now

Yep, looked at your picture, and that is exactly what is happening to me.

Never had this issue with Berettas but have it with SIG P320s and the X grips. It’s why I’m sticking with the G17 at work.

Thinking back, since I didn’t used to have this problem, I wonder if thin grips are the issue. Will have to see whether I have some thicker ones on an older 92 in the safe.

I have the opposite problem. My grip often prevents the Beretta 92 slide from locking back. This is not a problem in USPSA or steel matches, since I plan for my round count and reloads. It hurts in IDPA when they require slide lock reloads.

same issue. Not at a high frequency.

The sweatier the hands the worse it got.

Going to thinner grips with more aggressive texture helped a lot.

I was thinking that the thin grips might contribute to the issue.

Also what if you curl your thumb downward kinda like Scott Warren. I have to do that to the p30s to not touch the slide lock lever.

I like these. Checkering goes all the way up (wish they'd do that on more models). Plenty grippy, as always. Thicker than the in-vogue "thin" grips from various sources.

While it is not ideal, I could deal with the slide not locking back. What I cannot deal with, is the slide locking back with cartridges still in the magazine.

I bet five pistol forum dollars that thicker grips solves this problem.

I think you are on the right track with the thin grips. I have that issue with my LTT, but not with the Lok grips on my M9A3 or my 92A1. I had to change how I gripped the gun slightly and it has been good since then.
