"The reason behind this is that the PRO sells at least 50:1 compared to the AIR. People really love the steel buckle."
Good on you for giving the people what they want.
Having said that, I own 4 MM/Graith belts. I will describe by belt buckle.
1. Black belt with the simple steel buckle used on what is now called the PRO
2. One Grey with a metal buckle that looks similar to the polymer one sold on the AIR
3. One OD Green with a metal buckle that looks similar to the the polymer one sold on the AIR
4. One Shivworks Special with the polymer buckle used on what is now called the AIR
In my sample of 4, the polymer buckle on the Shivworks belt is the most secure and easiest to manipulate.
I have sold off any remaining 5 stitch metal buckled Wilderness belts as they no longer bring me joy.
I still have my original 1.75 inch polymer lined "Instructor" and 2 1.5 inch polymer lined "Frequent Flyer" belts purchased when I was carrying a full sized 1911, 2 mags and a flashlight on a regular basis.
IMHO, the MM belts are optimum for AIWB and IWB use with any gun weighing approx. 36 oz or less all day long. I suspect that they would be just fine AIWB/IWB for heavier ones as well.
I would defer to you all that still carry a heavier gun (i.e. all steel 1911) re whether a polymer lined Wilderness is still the "school" solution for an EDC OWB set up.
Off duty and when I'm carrying concealed on duty I use JMCK with the MMT Specialist. It is far more comfortable than any of the other belts I have tried for AIWB and I agree it is the ideal belt for AIWB or IWB especially with properly fitting pants which will help support the gun.
OWB I use a couple of the Ares Aegis Enhanced belts for other than dress clothes. For me, it is the ideal OWB belt, especially with a full-size gun, mags, and cuffs.

For OWB with a suit I use this belt from Comp-Tac:

But again when I'm off duty I'm almost always carrying concealed with the MMT Specialist. For the gym its a G48 with JMCK AIWB, and the G45/RMR/TLR-7 in a JMCK AIWB everywhere else.
We have restocked all colors and will try our best to keep them in stock. Also 10% OFF is back for a limited time.
