MMT Specialist Belts Now in More Colorways

We have been away from PF for a while and since posting our thread about the new Limited Edition AIR belts we have had a lot of questions about the Mastermind Belts. I wanted to take a moment and share a bit about them for those that have questions. I will also post a link to some information about the company history from inception to present sometime later today.




Specs:

1.5” Black Mil-W-17337 Berry compliant nylon webbing construction with nylon scuba webbing core

-The construction of the Specialist provides the ideal blend of strength and comfort, being rigid enough to support all your gear but flexible enough for all day comfort.

1.5” US made steel buckle on PRO / 1.5” US made nylon buckle on AIR

-The low-profile buckle options not only give you the most available space for all of your carry gear but does away with a bulky, uncomfortable buckle.

Specialized high cycle-life loop

-The Specialist belt has an optimized hook-and-loop closure that combines a carefully crafted tail section with a high cycle-life loop that will outlast any other hook-and-loop closure. The hook-and-loop closure means that the Specialist Pro is infinitely adjustable within the adjustment range.

Chemically stiffened belt end

-The end of the belt tail is stiffened which makes it easier to thread through belt loops and holster/sheath attachments.

Handmade in the US

-Every Mastermind Tactics belt is handmade in our small workshop. Unlike those who use contract manufacturing we make our goods ourselves from start to finish, ensuring the highest levels of quality and at the same time allowing us to offer our belts at unbeatable prices.

After reading the AIR thread and the Website.... I find myself asking...
Is the only difference between the PRO and AIR the steel buckle vs Nylon buckle?

FYI... the references to the cycle life on the loop on the AIR page says "Pro". Might want to update that.

The only difference is the buckle. We found through the years when having a belt come with a polymer or metallic buckle respectively we always had people asking for the other option. We decided simply to make the belt available with both buckle options and let people pick which one would work best for them. FWIW I prefer the polymer buckle myself and have it on all of my Specialists.

We do not have any current plans to offer a green colorway however like the AIR on occasion we will have some limited release colors. The reason for eliminating color choices has to do with cost and not having any options for color or camo it allows us to reduce material costs which then can be passed along to the consumer. So in essence by not stocking colors other than black we can make the Specialist cheaper in price which conforms to the old Mastermind paradigm or high quality at affordable prices.

Is sizing same as Graith???
I lost a bunch of weight since buying my Graith.... It's in great condition, but long now.

It's silly, really, that I prefer a non-black belt.... Silly, since nobody ever sees it except my wife. I'm trying to get over it.
I completely understand scale.... So.. I was more lamenting than complaining... Totally understandable... No worries.
Was biding my time hoping for Foliage Green... or Orange... A little disappointed I took a pass on the Shivworks color scheme.

I am happy to hear they are still going strong! Conventional hook and loop can last a long time if taken care but like any hook and loop product it will eventually wear out. The new hook and loop, specifically the loop portion will last as long as you can expect such a product too. We use the same stuff that is used on prosthetic and medical devices so it should outlast normal hook and loop products by a significant margin.

Yes the sizing will be the same as the Graith Specialist belt. I will attach a link to our detailed sizing instructions for anyone that may wish to reference it. Also if anyone has any questions about sizing please do not hesitate to shoot us a PM or an email.

We do not have any plans for a foliage or high viz color on deck. If anyone wants product updates you can sign up for our newsletter on our site which where all new product releases, promos, and info will be released first.

Based on all the excellent reviews I ordered a Specialist AIR LE and just got shipping confirmation. Even though I swore off velcro (Wilderness 5 stich) I'm looking forward to trying this out.

Thanks for the support, we appreciate it very much! Over the years we have a lot of customers make the switch from riggers style belt to a Specialist. It should prove to be a much different experience than your other belt.
