Putting an RMR on a P320

So I was looking at this closer earlier and it kind of pissed me off. I'm not sure if the footprint milling is interchangeable but it appears that drilling and tapping the two 6-32 holes is something they can mark on the slide and can do but they choose not to? I have an adpter plate but dont have my HS507c yet to get a closer look.

Are you saying that all I would need to do is drill and tap 2 more 6-32 holes in my M18 slide and I could direct mount an RMR?

I'm not sure if it's that simple. But I find out it is I'm doing it on the mill. I found a company online who does the necessary work for $50 which I thought was plenty fair. It appears on their page that some slight milling may be required to the front of the pocket in some cases.

I thought the new 320 Legion and M17/18 pistols now come with an additional set of holes for mounting an RMR/SRO?
Likes pretty much everything in every caliber.

There are several different SIG factory optics cuts - all are either for the original SIG Rome footprint or the SIG Romeo1 / DPP footprint. Welcome to the world of SIG.

The two you showed were made to spec for two different GOV contracts. The M17 specified DPP and the CBP contract (which they lost) specified either DPP or RMR. If you want to buy 50,000 guns (or more) they will make what ever you want.

L&M Precision, and others can modify the Romeo cuts to direct mount the RMR or Holosun.

FWIW the new 320 Pro slides will have an optic cut to accommodate RMR footprint sights. Not helpful for folks who own older guns, or buying the commercial guns. I know they've changed the slide cuts on the XRay guns, so who knows. You CAN be reasonably certain that you won't get a straight answer from SIG.
