Just a heads up, it looks like Blue Force Gear has restocked on some of the Dapper mag pouches that were OOS recently. Probably from members here setting up their PDW packs...

Got the Grey Man Tactical RMP to try in my GoRuck. Works OK, but I might switch it out for the Ruck Customs Velcro'd sheet. No strong reason, other than have used a lot of Velcro over the years, and am familiar with it.

Rummaged through my bag of unused/leftover straps and such. Found some short straps with quick-connects, which worked will with the RMP:

And they'd work fine with a bit of Velcro added if I switch out the sheets.

    Finished this up today.

    Using One of These: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And a Hook Side Roll of This: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

22 bucks in supplies, about...30 minutes with a Dremel to cut the plastic to shape, another 10 minutes or so to put the velcro on and make sure it was trimmed up.

For those of us "of a certain age", the thought of concealing a deer rifle and 100 rounds of useful ammunition behind something smaller than Aunt Sally's last birthday cake just boggles the mind.

Not a bad idea. I went with the thicker PVC, because I wanted to make sure I didn't get flex with a load attached to it. And although Amazon says shipping weight of "7 pounds", I'd be stunned if the whole thing weighs 2 pounds. I don't have a postal scale or I'd measure it for you guys.

Far Upper Midwest. Lower Midwest When I Absolutely Have To
Stopped at the local “5-11 Mart” today and poked around a bit. I was looking for something to replace my violin case when orchestra instruments are inappropriate, and the black sling pack which is a bit worn. Ran across the Lima messenger/computer bag. A quick measurement said it would work, and it does. It’s a tight squeeze right now, but I have a 7” rail on order to replace the 9” that’s on there now. When that’s on there, should give me a few extra inches of room, and allow it to sit horizontal. Like all 5.11 stuff, it has a zillion pockets, so finding a few spots to stash some mags and a TQ should not be an issue. I’ll figure that one out tonight with a coffee stout. It will be pressed into service immediately as an extended road trip is set for later this week with the usual hotel lobby excursions. Turns out the guy at the counter and I had a mutual CPD buddy and I got a free morale patch gratis. That will not be staying on. I’ll give you my “1500mi feedback” after I use it some in a few days.
