    Trijicon RMR "gusset"

Or, what exactly is that? I sent my Type 1 RMR to Trijicon because it wouldn't stay on. I honestly expected a Type 2 replacement. Not that I wanted one but I'd heard that was common for returned Type 1's. I got my same unit back, with the work performed noted as: "Added gussets".

It looks the exact same. And seems to be working just fine now, no complaints about that. Just wondering what they actually did.

Maybe the gusset mean the copper plate that connects to the battery?

Check the bottom of the RMR and look at the connectors on your RMR. Take a look at the page:

If your plate looks like the new type 2 then that might be what they did.

Gussets are generally things used to strengthen/stiffen things. Did they add anything to the contacts to make them stiffer?

For what it's worth, I found that the Type 1s I had broken were much improved after the upgrade at the factory.

Looks the same as before, I thought. When I do my annual 4th of July battery swapapalooza I’ll compare it to other Type 1’s I have.

Put another 200 or so rounds through it last week and whatever they did seems to be working.
