    RFI: Internet extender/repeater.

I need to extend my wireless net work about 127 feet from the router.
Router sits on a windowsill, line of sight to a metal Morton building. I just need internet for essentials, TV, laptop so i can do the important things like Pistol-Forum, PornHub, etc.
    Not against external ant.

    Thoughts?

Ubiquiti UniFi AP... very easy to configure, and damned reliable. Should easily add the range you need: https://smile.amazon.com/Ubiquiti-Un...dp/B015PRCBBI/

    That's what I would use.

This is a $100 Mu MIMO AP that needs a separate PoE to be purchased to drive it, correct? What would be special about this particular item that would "extend range"?

Not trying to be an ass, just curious if you have this item and have used it with good results. I read through the user manual at the link and really didn't notice much in the way of features that would say this item is better for "long range" WiFi than the typical AP, hence the questions hoping to learn something new.

What are you using for your current router/access point? (model/type?)

Do you have power in the Morton building (110VAC?)

How many devices do you need on the network in the Morton building? One? Or things like a printer, or a iPad or similar for music?

I've never been in a semi-permanent metal structure ("Morton" building) that allowed signal to get in/out. They're basically faraday cages.

I think you're going to need to run a line directly into the structure. Is something different about yours that would allow a signal to get through?

No tag or label, I don't know shit about it.
Provided by the phone company, who is a co-operative. Gotta remember, I'm rural AF. Hell, we only got fiber-optic 8-9 years ago.

Items on the network? I think 1 computer, a printer, and a TV running Prime Might be 2-3 phones, depending on who is there.

Well, there are two 4'x5' picture windows on the end that line-of-sight to the router. I was hoping that would be the ticket.
On the other hand, I would have no issue at all mounting an external ant. and routing it inside.

I'm totally not a tech guy, but think that might be your more reliable play. You'll have to use a "booster" or whatever its called just to reach the building, and then another one inside to spread the signal inside so that it's not just confined to the immediate area of that window.

Seems more simple and reliable to just run a line from your house to inside the building with its own router.

Possible that you take a picture of the back side i.e. where the cables come and go showing all the connections?

I think I know why you are having issues.
