The AR-15 is one of the best and easiest platforms to use for home defense, as well as other pursuits such as hunting, self defense, and competition shooting. This class will cover the AR-15 from the ground up and give you the foundation you need to run this firearm properly and efficiently. In this full day class we will cover:
    - Mindset
    - Factors that legally allow the use of force
    - Firearms safety
    - What you do and don't want in an AR-15 in terms of features
    - Loading and manipulation
    - Zeroing and ammunition
    - Height over bore, what it is, and how it does (and doesn't) affect you
    - Shooting positions: standing, kneeling, sitting, and prone
    - Shooting from contact distance all the way to 100 yards
    - Common malfunctions and how to remediate them
    - Performance improvement plan
Duration: 8 Hours Class Start 9:00 AM
    Location: Shadow Hawk Defense
Equipment Requirements: You will need an AR-15 or similar semi-auto magazine fed rifle, 3 or more magazines for your rifle, a sling, the ability to retain at least two magazines on your person, 250-300 rounds of reliable ammunition for your rifle (no steel core, armor piercing, or tracer), ballistic rated eye and ear protection (electronic amplified is highly recommended), not mandatory but also highly recommended is a brimmed cap.
Attendance Considerations: There are very few pre-requisites for this course. At a minimum to attend you must know and should be able to follow at all times the 4 Cardinal Rules of Firearms safety! An open mind and a willingness to be challenged, to learn and to improve are desirable. Train hard! We hope to see you on the range.
