I don’t know from experience, but I don’t think crayons work well in the pool, while wearing swimming trunks...

I have one of those, can recommend.

I have three of these, all have survived two years running outdoors off the solar recharge, all mounted outdoors on a fenceposts. One is probably 75 yards from my wifi location and it has still functioned. Several notification options, but the one I use pings my cell phone through the app, or emails me, and the motion detection and playback function over my cell phone has been most helpful. I am not sure about SMS options. It ignores possums and cats, but picks up people, large dogs, and vehicles. Good night vision as well.

I think the possibility of false alarms exist with all of them. I feel fortunate that I did not have to dink with that aspect and they have pretty much done what I wanted since I installed them. I am also lucky lightning has not knocked one out yet, but I figure where I live that will happen some day.
