    Xero shoes

Not affiliated in any way, just a fan of the product. I've had their DIY sandals for about a year and like them. Not very stable for lateral movements but I actually enjoy doing easy 2-3 mile runs in them. I just bought the Z Trails when I saw the 50% off sale and have worn them all week working from home, doing crossfit workouts, and a few short 2 mile runs. Really happy so far and hoping they have decent longevity. If they last long enough the normal price would definitely be justified and at 50% off I'll roll the dice.

You're welcome to call me a dirty hippy. I started running in Merrell Trail Gloves when they first came out. Since then I've been a diehard zero or minimal drop runner and Rucker.

How do they feel if they get wet?
Sorta around sometimes for some of your shitty mod needs.

Haven't gotten the Ztrail wet yet other than running through wet grass. Nothing odd there.

The DIY kit isn't great in deep water or heavy currents. It feels like it'll get pulled off easily. I'm hoping the Z Trail will be better in that regard. One pro of the DIY kit is that it can't retain any water. Hard rubber and minimal cordage. Z trail sole has some give so maybe it'll take on a little water? Don't know yet.

In the desert, looking for water.
I’ve enjoyed trail sandals in the past, but gave up on them due to excess stiffness.

Ordered a pair of the on-sale brown ones.

I've got a pair of the black Z Trails on the way. I am looking forward to trying them. A friend has been super happy with his.

I spent last year slowly getting used to the Hana's - casual shoes. It took a little bit at a time over a few months to transition to wearing full time. My experience is don't expect to put on minimal shoes on and go. My feet/ankles/movement are weak. The shoes are thin enough that a bad piece of gravel in a parking lot will give me a surprise. I spend the winter in muck boots so we are finally transitioning back to shoe conditions.

Been meaning to place a order for a few pairs of the running shoes just for everyday wear. I'll probably get that done today. I'll probably get a Mesa Trail and a HFS.
