But that's not my favorite David Brown story. How about this one: Shortly after he was sworn in as DPD Chief, his 19 year old son murdered a Lancaster PD (south side of Dallas suburb) officer during a DV call. The son was promptly smoke checked by a back up officer from LPD. When it's time to plant cop killer sonny for his dirt nap, Brown ordered his Command Staff to attend the funeral in uniform and using DPD squads. He's a lowlife and that's the best I can say about him.
He also had the Dallas PD motor unit escort the funeral. An officer at a neighboring department came from Dallas and he said that Brown was not well liked by the rank and file.

The Second City Cop blog had a post this morning about Brown and an article he wrote: http://secondcitycop.blogspot.com/20...own-words.html

"I retired in 2016 as a much-heralded police chief of Dallas Police Department"

    Well, at least he's humble about his accomplishments . . . .

That's beyond cringeworthy. Makes me want to throw up.

    FIFY.
If we have to march off into the next world, let us walk there on the bodies of our enemies.

And it took him four years to find another job? If he truly was all that and a bag of chips, wouldn't other cities have been beating down his door?

He can walk around and grin while he draws his salary. But first he has to form an entourage to walk around with him.

The big question is why would they hire him? I know why but I guess my real question is why does this incompetence continue?

Because it maintains the (corrupt) status quo.
