I have a Colt Official Police with work that could have come out of the same shop:
The first indication a bad guy should have that I'm dangerous is when his
disembodied soul is looking down at his own corpse wondering what happened.
Impressive file work for sure.
Don’t blame me. I didn’t vote for that dumb bastard.
That is such a useful modification; and done with such skill as to seem even artful today. It's really sad that this has been lost for the most part in this age we find ourselves in now.
Wow!
I think you are right!
The hand work and time it took to do that is something just not seen today.
I have a 1939 Colt Official Police that served as our home defense gun for a number of years when my wife and I were first married and were beyond dirt poor. I paid the princely sum of $140 for it. It is stamped J.P.D. on the butt, and based on the wear on the right side grip, it was carried many miles in a flap holster. It would certainly be even cooler if it had sights like those.
Are those old Franzite grips by chance?
I keep coming back to this and wondering how hard it would be (aka how much will a smith charge me) to have that kind of work done on a Vaquero or SAA reproduction?
