Dan Wesson Valor makes a comeback

    Seen on Facebook

    https://danwessonfirearms.com/product/valor-2/

I know double stack 2011s are the new hotness right now, but I am glad the see the Valor is coming back. My 9mm has been excellent and is a joy to shoot.

Didn't know it went away. I don't carry a 1911 anymore, but my Valor is one of the last guns I'd sell. The Bruin is the bee's knees for a 10mm.
We may lose and we may win, but we will never be here again.......

It was discontinued in 2018. I talked to Keith Lawton about it, he said they just weren’t selling well anymore.

I’m a big DW fan, but I don’t really care for the changes they’ve made on the new version.

I used to be a mod on the DW section of 1911forum, and I didn't even know they were discontinued. Shows you how long I've been out of the 1911 game. But assuming quality hasn't changed and I wanted a 5" 1911, I'd probably still buy a Valor without thinking much about it.

    BOLD style front sight (like)
    U-notch rear sight (dislike)
    Trigger (strongly dislike)
Slide stop (dislike— i loved the old Valor slide stop)
    Recessed slide stop hole (like)
    Grips
    Ambi safety (dislike)
    Magwell (like)

I also believe that they have changed suppliers for their slides and frames.

Courtesy of CZcustom, who appear to be offering these at realistic street prices. No affiliation, I just wanted more pics.
