That lower is a hell of a good deal at $279 - you’re basically buying the brace at normal price and getting a complete lower for free. What’s strange is that none of the pics show the brace fully collapsed.

My experience has been limited, but it’s all I’ve got.

    * A 7.5” toy 5.56 has been 100% on a carbine RE lower with LAW folder. I’ve had success with both H and H2 buffers, currently it has a Sprinco blue and a H which gives an effective buffer weight of 5.8 oz or just more than a H3. It seems to tame the little beast down just fine. This is the upper that my Brit friend dubbed the “ASBO” after he shot it. I have maybe 1000 rounds through this over the years - again, it’s a toy.

    * A 7” .300 with a Strike Industries pistol length RE and their spring and buffer. I put this together as a never braced cheekweld pistol after seeing Clusterfrack’s success with his. No issues but a limited number of rounds through it.

    * A 4.5” AR9 with a LWRCI UCIW stock and RE. I put a HeavyBuffers 9mm buffer in this one. It runs and runs and runs…

I’d be inclined to trust the Maxim Defense options, they seem to be well tested. Someone here posted that one of the big three letter agencies even has them for some specialized teams, so if they passed muster with them I’m good.

In the case of my current research project (a 9” .300 FoldAR) it looks like the manufacturer’s experience is that a carbine weight buffer with a Maxim brace or stock runs well due to the adjustable gas port.

I'm very happy with my 300BLK cheek pistol. The vertical KFG helps with the ergos.

A shorty .300BO spitting Lehigh Defense 194gr Maximum Expansions, pushed by a bit of 1680 thru a can? I can live with that all day.

The older I get the more my shoulders get the more I’m paying for my old job. It really has me considering moving to a shorter rifle to take off some of the stress. Haven’t decided if that’s the path forward or not.

My three favorite shorter PDW type firearms are the 6.75 Rattler in .300, the 7.5 FN 15P in 5.56, and the new HK 11 inch MR556A4 pistol. The HK is a great gun, although the side folding capability of the FN and Sig make for an easy to transport firearm.
Likes pretty much everything in every caliber.

How do you sling that? Under your arm conventionally or just looped over your neck?

Conventionally. I like the sling fairly loose, to allow easy bilateral transition. But tightening it works well with push-pull support. I've shot it out to 200yds that way.

But no reason you couldn't wear it looped.

I went ahead and picked up a Maxim Gen 7 CQB stock, it showed up yesterday. I dry fitted it on one of my spare lowers, I am hugely impressed with the quality and ergonomics.

I keep looking at their PDX upper, too. Ooof.
