Begun the great debate about cargo pants vs jeans has

Pants: unless it’s for weather related reasons, I can’t see why jeans won’t work,
As long as they’re the right jeans.

Eg. my daughter wore low-rise jeans to a Project Appleseed, against my suggestion, and got hot .22 brass down her butt.

I bet we can start a massive P-F thread on tactical jeans.

Here’s a pic I dug up from a Practical Rifle match several years ago. Note the kneepads. There’s a moving steel target way back there on rails that pass behind the barrel stacks.

And here’s a pic of Iain from Top Shot at PR from way back.

I hate jeans so much. I don't understand how people wear them, especially for anything that requires movement.

I know, right? A buddy of mine works for a tactical training group, and likes the 5.11 Jeans. Literally the only pair of jeans I own are TAD Gear stretchy jeans that I picked up after @SouthNarc pimped them at EWO a few years ago. They are $$$ but really good.

Because you’re dudes. 🤷*♀️ Also, unlike lots of people here, I’m about the least tactical person ever. I’ll consider something different than jeans if needed.

Shit. You caught me... I’m sure they work, many people wear them. But it blows my mind, even the stretchy jegging type stuff feels terrible to me. I have one pair from Duluth that I can wear sometimes for errands, but that’s it. I see dudes like Lucas from TRex that only wears them and wonder about his mental state.

Jeans are what I wear 99% of the time.

I switched to cargos a couple years ago, starting with shorts for the 11 1/2 months of the year I wear them around here. Makes it awfully convenient to carry a wallet and phone where you can get to them while seated and they don't interfere with your posture.

Agreed. I hate jeans. Restrictive and too hot in summer and too cold in winter.
