This forum is more enlightened than most (no sarcasm) and seems to be taking this round of panic buying in stride.

There are folks saying "It's not fair. I want to panic buy and hoard some ammo, but some guys beat me to it and now the prices are too high on the crappy 9mm and 556!"

But the "gouging" on Gunbroker and Armslist serves a purpose.

If you really need ammo, it's available. Yes, it's going to cost you.

But you just decided now is a time to increase your ammo supply (hoard) and are shocked the prices are higher, then you will not purchase (and hoard) and will leave ammo available for those that think they need it more.

If prices had stayed at their levels of 2 weeks ago, there would be none available right now for those that are slap out and need some (which I doubt is anyone/many in this forum.)

Dealers have to stay in business. When they have less product to sell, they need to bump the price up. They still have overhead. Armslist and GB is full of unrepentant profiteers.

A guy i used to work with took full advantage of that during every crisis. He made quite a bit of money off of it. Just goes to show being prepared in advance is the way to go.
