I'd like to give the guy the benefit of the doubt. We used to get people in all the time that were interested in buying their first gun and had no idea about the amount of red tape and bureaucratic hoops they'd have to deal with in CA.
Guys that were transplants from other states that had previously purchased guns elsewhere always seemed to be the most surprised.
Took my mom up to her DR appointment today in a larger city north of me..once there, passed a large gun shop I’ve frequented in the past...There was a line from the door, all the way down one side of the building..I’ve never seen anything like this before.. also, ran to the grocery store last night, to get some burger..the entire meat dept was almost sold out, they were packing up the last of the burger, and I scored 2 lbs..This is getting nuts...

Somehow I have a feeling Joe Biden will have a hard time trying to convince all of these new gun owners that they need to give up their weapons.
People need to just chill out, hang out at home with family, watch a movie, play some board games, read a book or two, and relax. I went to the small grocery store in my little home town this morning, there wasn't any TP, but pretty much everything else was available as far as I could tell. Stock was low, but it was there. I didn't need TP anyhow, we typically keep a large Costco pack on hand.
Prior to COVID 19 being a thing, I put a post up on FB about how WA gun owners should buy some stripped lowers and toss them in their safe for a rainy day, because after July 1 2020 they will require the same additional background check and wait period as semi autos since July 1 2019. I also gave the recommendation to put together a little stockpile of ammo if they didn't already have one that would be able to get them through a post Sandy Hook type ammo shortage because election cycles do weird things to people. I wasn't recommending buying 100,000 rounds of every caliber you own, just enough to ride out the panic storm. Most of the likes and comments were from my squared away friends and family, but one guy laugh reacted the post and posted the tin foil hat GIF with Joaquin Phoenix from the movie "Signs".
You'll never guess who messaged me on FB last night asking me to help him out and sell him some 9mm and/or .223 ammo or wanting me to give hims some leads on "cheap ammo in bulk". I laugh reacted the message and sent him the same GIF that he left on my post a few months ago. We've had years and years of plentiful ammo supplies that can be on our doorstep in a matter of days, if someone waited until now to put a little off to the side I'm not sympathetic to their perceived emergency.
