I have a Vigil with a Wilson magwell and the length from the top of the sights to the magwell is ~6". I'm looking to reduce the printing profile, so I'm looking at a Vigil CCO and I'm curious if it's closer to 5". Pictures? Measurements? Both?

    TIA

Am I correct in assuming these are the two items you had your CCO set up with? https://shopwilsoncombat.com/Bullet-...tinfo/627BCRB/

I know this dude and that's oddly still ~300 more than I'll spend after getting the CCO plus mags and the magwell. I just can't justify that right now even though I trust the owner and would love to have the "pride of ownership".

My CCO, pictured above, is a bone stock DW Valkyrie, right out of the box. No magwell, so 8rd mags sat flush, the 9 and 10rd mags protruded. A 9rd mag would sit flush with the bottom of the Wilson magwell linked above, if you had one installed.

The FDE Wilson (now gone) is a "Compact Carry, Professional" model, which has a full length grip with their one-piece round-butt bulletproof magwell. The Wilson CCP grip is considerably longer, and more difficult to carry, than the CCO. The magwell made little difference, IMO.

My one bit of advice would be, get an aluminum frame regardless of what size you choose. I carried that Wilson (steel frame) for two years, mostly in a 5-Shot SME. The Valkyrie CCO is a lightweight (aluminum) frame, and there was night and day difference.

Ahh yes, my memory got fuzzy on the pictures and I didn't go back on the page. Going back to the magazines, is the link I provided the correct link for the 9 rd mags? I heard some people say that the CCO shouldn't use the 10 rd mags b/c the extractor could get damaged if you insert the magazine too aggressively. I'm smithtarded, so I don't even know the validity of that statement. Perhaps you could weigh in on that?

    TIA

    Yes sir, that's the one.

As far as 10rd mags, yes and no. If you buy the 10rd mags meant for the Officer frame, shown in my pics above, you shouldn't have that issue. If you buy standard 10rd mags meant for full-size (or Professional) frames, they could over-insert and make contact with your ejector since they have no baseplate to stop them, just the mag catch.

This is the correct CCO (Officer/Compact) length 10rd mag....

Ahhh, gotchya, so the ones I have for my full sized Vigil will not work: https://shopwilsoncombat.com/1911-El...ductinfo/500-9

So do you think it's best I go half and half for mags of the 9 rd and 10 rd in regards to concealment and ease of class time? Sorry to be a pain, but obviously 1911s are a bit in the Ferrari category for me after running HK and Glock ;D

ETA: So you wouldn't recommend these: https://shopwilsoncombat.com/1911-El...tinfo/500-9C9/
Or I shouldn't use these for safety of the extractor, etc?

Those work just fine in my Staccato C, (CCO sized).

Not a pain at all. PF is all about information exchange.

The 9rd and 10rd mags would be a good mix. Maybe grab a single 8rd flush mag, just to have around.

The 9rd mag you linked (PN: 500-9C9) is a Compact/Officer magazine, which is exactly what you need for a CCO.

Any of these 8, 9, and 10rd mags will work in a CCO...

I had a hard time cutting into a 1911, but it was worth it. And since the LW CCO is the best carry configuration, it was selected for the task
