Thread: Good value leather holster?

    Good value leather holster?

I'm not really a leather guy, but my father is just dipping his toe in to this.

He just picked up a CZ P-07 and I think a 3 oclock holster similar to a Versa Max II would work well for him.

The price of custom leather appears jumped significantly in the last several years since I last looked. Who's the good value (good price to quality ratio) in leather now?

I have a couple of Galco holsters in leather. OWB, 3:00, forward cant that have worked well for me. Loose clothing works as a cover. You are right, you get what you pay for, but I have been wearing them for over 5 years now.

I'm just firmly in the buy once cry once camp. Kramer's horsehide holsters are probably the best value. No, they are not cheap, but if someone can wear out a properly made horsehide holster in their lifetime, I'd be damn impressed.

Galco's the best of the mass produced, get it right now, offerings.

Galco doesn't seem to offer CZ P-07 models of what I'm looking for.

I pointed to him to TT Gunleather. I'll look at the others.

    Thx

These folks make a great holster, and will do so for a CZ P-07.

I have an example of their work you can fondle if you wish.

Another vote for Kramer horsehide in this application. Quality that lasts. Many choices.

I happen to think my 5 Shot Leather SME is a good value too, despite its being the most expensive holster I’ve ever gotten.

I have first hand experience with this brand and have bought several times over, including the above holster for a P-07. May have to trim the sweatshield a bit, but that is easily done with a sharp hobby knife and it's a small price to pay for having a quality leather holster on your doorstep inside of two weeks.

I also have holsters from Tim Thurner (TT Gunleather) and they are stunningly good, but they cost 2X what Winthrop does.

Mitch Rosen doesn't offer a VM II type, but their Express Line is a good value https://mitchrosen.com/products/express-line/
