    Walking Roll Pin

My bolt catch roll pin is backing out of my M&P15OR during firing. It has never actually come all the way out & requires force to put back in. Any suggestions? Could the pin just be undersized? It is a 100% factory gun.

Very well could be the case.

    It does happen on occasion.
You can get much more of what you want with a kind word and a gun, than with a kind word alone.

I don't know how comparable it is, but I had the same thing happen to my P30's mag release roll pin (it would be half out after 2 boxes of ammo, and always walk out in the same direction). I replaced it and the new one is doing the job great.

A new roll pin should fix the issue. Roll pins are like springs and if not heat treated properly will loose their tension which sounds like happened to yours.
