Court hands Trump win in sanctuary city fight

A federal appeals court on Wednesday handed a major win to the Trump administration in its fight against “sanctuary” jurisdictions, ruling that it can deny grant money to states that refuse to cooperate with federal immigration authorities.

Which also means they can deny funds to any “2nd amendment sanctuary” counties or states.

2A is a constitutional right, illegal immigration is not.

Solid win for the administration. The short excerpt from the interview with the acting ICE director was interesting, it seems like a solid argument that there is less risk to the general public and to law enforcement when illegals are handed over when they are already in custody for another law violation by an agency. I think it not only potentially mitigates risk but reduces work load on BP/ICE as well as reduces the cost to tax payers, (in terms of man hours/OT). I would have liked to hear the rest of the Acting Directors comments. I am also curious as to what some of the current LE on the board that work in this area think of the potential impact and/or ramifications are if some of the sanctuary states start to work more with ICE. I would hope and think that pressure to cooperate with Federal Enforcement on immigration matters would be positive, both in reduction in crime and reductions in wards of the state.

And how many states or counties are considered "2nd amendment sanctuary" for federal laws?
We could isolate Russia totally from the world and maybe they could apply for membership after 2000 years.

None that I know of, but there was much talk during the recent Virginia fiasco. And on a couple of left leaning sites I visit to track the opposition this has been their proposed response to any agencies/localities that refuse to enforce their “reasonable gun control measures” for the last couple of years.

While I wholeheartedly agree with you, the Socialists/Democrats/Leftists see the 2A as a crime and illegal immigration as a human right.

You don't seem to understand that the 2A prevents someone from exercising their constitutional right to murder you. Duh!
There's nothing civil about this war.

Yeah, I gotta start working on my ability to empathize with those who are cognitively bankrupt.

Count on the Ds dragging this all the way to SCOTUS.

I suspect that they will also see this as fertile ground for another attempt at impeachment. Abuse of power v2?
