Is the Colt 1991 still in production? What about the LW 9mm commander?

I can’t find them on their website.

The Colt answer is "sort of"; there is a new "1911 Classic" that replaces the 1991. The new design deletes the Series '80 firing pin safety. There is also a "Series 70 Government SS" in stainless steel.

As I like the Series '80 firing pin safety, it is good news that there are a lot of O1991 samples in the wild. My LGS has at least two that are still NIB.

I would get a colt LW commander or a combat commander in 9mm. Send it to cylinder and slide to be tuned and dehorned. 10-8 rear sight and coated in NP3.
