While I cannot comment specifically on plunger tubes, I have been replacing worn out MIM parts on my first generation Kimber with both Wilson and EGW parts, and both have worked well.

If EGW has what I need, I go with them
EGW or Wilson Bulletproof and stake it. Be sure to have the rod that supports the tube while you stake it so it doesn't get dented. I always used the Gun Runners tools.
FWIW grips that support the plunger tube don't do anything to keep it from coming loose, they just keep the spring and plungers from falling out.
EGW or WC Bullet Proof, in that order of preference. Best, Jon
