Two hours ago I was at the San Diego Air and Space Museum. Got there after it closed but did get a picture of the A-12 Oxcart out front. I would share it but it has my kid in it.
Back in the day I was lucky to have an SR-71A and B model outside my window at work. Whenever there was a tour I would mosey on out there and get some seat time. It was awesome to bum around these things.
The B model was moved to Portage, MI, so says the internet.
I took these pictures around 2001 and I think shared them in the past on PF. The B model is up front but its hard to tell that the aft cockpit was raised for pilot training.
This is an excellent way to spend 66 minutes.
Don’t blame me. I didn’t vote for that dumb bastard.
I really wish Mr. Shull would put out eBook versions of his books. They go for $300 on the used market. Based on the time they were published, his rights are probably such a confused mess it might not even be possible.
I was into 10mm Auto before it sold out and went mainstream, but these days I'm here for the revolver and epidemiology information.
I need to find this guys books. Here is a quick story:

Its funny how life works. I visited with some family yesterday and someone just visited Langley, got the full tour, and even some stories about Oxcart. Crazy!
I was pissed that I didn't get an invite though. Maybe next time.
I ended up down an A-12 rabbit hole last night though:
