AG Russell stocks some Dozier Knives. They also have a nice selection of bowies if "utilitarian" is more along the lines of hacking off limbs.

Whether you think you can or you can't, you're probably right.

Doesn’t get more classic than a Bob Loveless (style) drop point hunter.
Lots of folks make Loveless-style hunters. Here’s one.
Pic won’t attach. Click the link if you want to.

Trollsky Raider.
Also, there is a lot of phenomenal knife makers out there. I had custom knives made for my dad, brother and nephew out of metal files that my grandfather left me when he passed away.
I would hunt down an older American made Schrade/Old Timer SharpFinger
They were made for decades and are excellent knives. Reasonably priced too.
I've got an old carbon steel Sharpfinger that Fred Perrin owned and gave me as a gift about 20 years ago. He made a nice kydex sheath for it as well.
There's nothing civil about this war.
Under ther tem "Old school" I understand only a wooden handle + classic leather sheath. No micarta handles or black-orange Gerber knives promoted by Bear Grylls (which sucks actually)
I guess OP would like smth like JEO Tec 31 or Ifield 150

I would also suggest some Kershaw or ESEE knife, but they are not classy-looking.
