I don't know if this has been covered in this thread or not. I don't recall it and a quick search didn't turn it up. Does someone who contracts the virus and remains asymptomatic cease being contagious after two weeks or do they simply keep carrying it because, in essence, they've never had to fight it off? Do we know?

Do you have any idea how offensive this statement is to those of us who have loved ones in care facilities which have COVID? I’ve fucking had enough of you.

Use the "ignore" button. It's not worth getting lathered up over. Some folks just won't take the time to consider their words and how they might be received.
There's nothing civil about this war.

Oh, I did. I’ve come close nearly countless times the last few weeks, but this was the last straw. I don’t have time for shit like what he spews.

Advice seen on another site: to the tune of MASH (Suicide is Painless):

Through early morning fog I see
Another troll post on the screen
Their words that are meant to rile me
I realize and I can see

    That scrolling past is painless
    It brings on many changes
And I can take or leave it
    If I please

Games of trolls are a loss to play
    Not gonna feed it today
That losing card I’ll some day lay
But right now though I have to say

    That scrolling past is painless
    It brings on many changes
And I can take or leave it
    If I please

Their words are time we’ll not see again
It doesn’t hurt when it begins
But engage and get all drawn in
The loss grows stronger, watch it grin

    Scrolling past is painless
    It brings on many changes
And I can take or leave it
    If I please

    Sea Lions once demanded me
To answer questions they thought key
Is it to be, or not to be?
And I replied, oh why ask me?

    Scrolling past is painless
    It brings on many changes
And I can take or leave it
    If I please

And you can do the same thing
    If you please
    :-)

My biggest issue right now, is that for some insane reason, the various protestors have decided to roll out with their guns and tie 2A issues to their rejection of the measures necessary to fight this pandemic.

So now, because of some high profile idiots, in the public consciousness is the idea that during the pandemic, gun owners were selfish and irresponsible. Not just that, but they were actively taking actions at odds with those of our emergency first responders and were breaking the law. This is not a good look for gun owners at the best of times, but its going to be a really bad look to have lingering around when the backswing from this administration comes around, and the next round of gun control measures is floated.

How easy do you think it is going to be to convince someone that gun owners are responsible? That an armed populace is a source of security? For goodness sake, we are a month into an actual emergency situation, and there is a statistically significant percentage of the prepper/2a crowd that has completely lost their marbles.

So, perhaps I feel less inclined to tolerate the bs astroturfed ignorance regarding this crisis that is floating around, especially when it crops up in communities that I care about. I am particularly intolerant of it when that aggressively manifested ignorance is sabotaging the battle space for when we next have to defend our 2A rights.

I agree wholeheartedly with this post.

The only thing I will add is that these are not our 2A rights. They are our inalienable rights. The 2A does not grant us a right. It's a contract by the government with We the People which guarantees that it will not infringe on an already existing right.

An interesting look at what reopening protocols might look like in the casino and hospitality industry from Wynn Las Vegas:

Another friend got it. He's a doctor, I went through EMT school with him. He just extubated his first Covid-19 recovery earlier today. Bittersweet victory.

For all the people who still think it's a hoax, that's 5 people I know who've gotten it. 2 family (recovered), 2 acquaintances (1 dead, 1 near death and slowly recovering), 1 friend.
