Haven't heard anything about that in my neck of the woods either.

I was just talking to one of my med school Pals who is a pediatrician in another part of the state. Their group is going to have to take out a business loan in order to keep paying its employees. It would rather do that than let them go.

I've listened to a lot of people say they think that the medical community is going to clean up making a ton of money with this virus. In truth, several places are getting squeezed shut

Is it better to over estimate if it does more damage than good?

This situation is troubling far beyond just the virus.

Italy today had their first day of less than 4,000 new cases since March 17 with a total of 3,599 which continues a trend of decreasing daily new cases.

They had to do a legit lockdown in order to get on the other side of the curve.

The US on the other hand is going to fare much worse as we have only done some token things to slow the spread. We already have 11k deaths and are just starting to ramp up on the curve.

Tried Zappa but couldn't stop laughing at myself so I went with the walrus. My brother then told me the guys in his office thought I looked like Flanders from the Simpsons. Now it's all gone and I look like a little boy.

If you want to compare the two we should be comparing European countries to individual states here in the US and not the entire country.

While I understand that tens of thousands will eventually die here I find myself tired of the handwringing and worry. Once it got here it was pretty much inevitable, especially with the large portion of asymptomatic cases. While I or people I love could very well be among the dead when it’s all said and done, for now all I can do is to do my part to slow the spread and be a positive and optomistic influence on those around me. Dying from the covid still seems to be a far better way to go than burning to death while conscious by a long shot so we got that going for us too.

If I had a mustache, I'd look like an old worn out porn star. I wonder if the younger set here know who John Holmes was?

I imagine a lot of film aficinados of any age have seen Boogie Nights. I know folks in their twenties who know who Ron Jeremy is.

EDIT: Also, when I was going to University of Maryland, College Park around 2004-2005, a documentary on Deep Throat was being featured in the campus theater, along with the original feature on which the documentary was based.
