Support gear for Ruger Speed Six

    I have a new-for-me Ruger Speed Six with a 2 3/4" barrel.

Very few places mention holster compatibility with a Speed Six. If a holster fits a Security Six the fit should be exact, as far as I've understood. The Internets also claim a holster meant for a K-Frame would fit, but I would like to confirm this from a more reliable source, such as you guys. Any difference between leather and kydex (if such a thing even exists as a Kydex K-frame holster... ), or something else like that one should take into consideration before buying a holster meant for a K-frame for use with a Ruger Speed Six?

To facilitate a faster sight picture, I painted the front sight orange (with a white undercoat first). This works very well in good light. However, in poorer light (like say around dusk, or shooting at the local outdoor range after dark with the range floodlights on) the orange color tends to disappear. The front sight appears to be pinned in place so in theory it is replaceable. The Internet claims a Ruger SP101 front sight will fit, just needs a hole drilled in the right place for the retaining pin. But is that actually true? And are the sights the same height?

    Speed Six

Don Hume made dedicated Ruger Security Six holsters. They fit the Speed Six. Same gun just different sights.

Leather k-frame holsters will fit. No idea on kydex.
Sorta around sometimes for some of your shitty mod needs.

Watching this with interest. Picked up a mint-ish blued Service Six 4" .357 last year from a co-worker. Found a set of the Rogers/Safariland synthetic grips on eBay. There was a holster available on there that claims to by former NYPD issue. Kind of a hybrid IWB/OWB thing. has a metal clip on the outide edge for IMB and belt slots on the other side for OWB. There are a few on their now in pancake style for shorter barreled Rugers.

Ted Blocker can make holsters for the Ruger Six series.

Simply Rugged also lists fits for the older Rugers.

JMCK makes several, including 2.75". Wonder about loosening them a little, or (blasphemous!) heating one up a bit.

I have a Gemini Small Wonder in mine, and it is 0.135 tall and about 0.130 wide, and it did come not drilled.
ETA: It is an older one, might double check on current production.

As said, leather K frame holsters fit. Bianchi is the brand that I use for both. Any holster advertised to fit a 21/2 K frame would work.

A JMCK holster would be great. What say you, @Tony Mayer? Would a Ruger Speed Six fit into a S&W holster, either K-frame or L-frame?

Guys, not sure if the Speed Six fit our K/L frame mold, i don't own a Speed six to verify fitment. I can make a holster for our K frame and the end user can let me know if it fits. If it doesn't I can refund the holster completely. If someone wants to give it a go order using the K frame and let me know in the comments that it's for the Speed Six and I will now what's happening.

    Thanks
