I just ordered a 10-6. I have a spare 2" pinned barrel stashed from an older Model 10. I'm going to trim down the frame for a set of round butt boot grips, and we'll see how she works.

Sounds like a cool project. I would like to see how it turns out when you are finished.

Will do. I'll shoot some pics before, during and after.

    Hi Wayne,

If you want the 10-6 model with the pinned barrel, they are still available. This was what I got:

I paid the extra $25 "Best of 10" hand-select fee, which they said would bump them up to NRA Good condition. I did the same on the Beretta Model 70 .22 semi-auto I got from them last week, and it looked very nice. In this case, I think the extra 25 was well spent.

I'm supposed to get the Model 10 tomorrow. I'll clean it and test fire it on Tuesday after work. You are welcome to abuse it then.

I was planning to replace all the springs, bob the hammer, slick the action and round-butt the frame for a set of Ahrends stocks I have stashed. I've got a spare Model 10 2" pinned barrel that I'll have Gene swap for the 4" tube. If you need that barrel, you are welcome to it.

I have an old Bucheimer IWB rig for it someplace, I knew that holster would eventually find a pistol to fill it.

True Americans should own a Model 10 (and some flavor of 1911),

Truth. This is my first Model 10, but I already have six 1911's.

Clearly I have some catching up to do.

Will a model 13 and a 1911 suffice? In all fairness the 1911 is in 9mm, but is a Colt!

1930 M&P, as well as a 15, 18, 28, and 2 Jframes. No 1911, though. I served when we carried Berettas, so I have one of those, and some Glocks.

A K-frame .38/.357 is acceptable. Less so if it has a soul-drainhole in the sideplate.
