I don't know about him having dementia, but to me, it looks more like the behavior you get from a longtime chronic Topper.

Toppers always, always have to be better than everyone else, and have no qualms about making things up to make themselves look impressive.

I'm wondering why old Bernie just doesn't stake out the middle ground here and own up to his rhetoric and voting record in the senate and expand on that. Trump flaunted the GOP before he got the nomination. They were all moderates on immigration and thought he would be a terrible candidate based on his hard line on immigration. The GOP is now the GOPT. I'm seeing candidates trying to conform to the party platform because the party holds the purse strings. The money being dumped into the parties comes mostly from special interests like PAC's like the NRA that demand politicians bow to their wishes. One of those is hard line federal gun control for dems. It's started again already because Bernie has the party sweating blood trying to figure out how they ditch old Bernie the socialist again. They're about to cut their own throats if they can't read the wind and mood of independent voters cause that who's going to bust the next election wide open. Jeezus, old Bernie has called himself an independent senator not aligned with any party from day one. What's his problem here with no more federal gun control? Maybe he should look at his own damn voting record. For most of his political career Bernie has been skeptical of more federal gun control. He really needs own up to the fact that he really never bought a ticket for that show.

None of them are talking about their own ideas, messages, or anything else that could make this country and the world a better place. They're all focused on whether they can beat Trump, so they're making whatever crazy promises they have to make to get out the vote.

I don't understand why the Democrat party has trouble ditching B. Sanders the "Independent." He's not a party member, seems they would not have to let him run on a Democrat ticket if they really didn't want to. "Go away Bernie. apply for an Independent box on the ballots."
