Options for carbine light with green laser?

I'm not looking for the $2k "milspec" option here, but I'd like to have a light and a laser on my critter carbine at home. I have a Streamlight (I think this is what I have now) on my critter pistol that I'm pretty happy with but for the carbine I might like a different option, particularly if one exists that's worth a damn that puts the laser module closer to the centerline of the barrel.

something sub-$300 would be awesome (the more sub the better, without it being wholly unreliable). I'm not fighting intruders here, just raccoons and possums.

Rob I’m waiting (and at this point praying) for Surefire to release the XR2. Twin bulbs with 600 combined lumens and a red or green laser. I want to put it upside down at the 12 o’clock position on a rail. That should get the laser as close to the bore as we can reasonably expect. It also appears it would block less of my view through the optic than an X300U.

Sadly we are still waiting... I’m getting to where I dislike SHOT and don’t want to see what’s announced until 2 years after.

I see pricing on these that’s all over the place. I think I’m going to order one regardless and worst case this goes on the pistol and the old Streamlight I have now goes on the carbine.

Anyone know if this is a real thing? TLR-8AG? seems as though it would address the switching question...

I have the green laser only C5 version on all my MPX's and PCC's for USPSA. Works well within daylight limitation's, but is awesome bright in dark situations.

Are you using yours on a carbine? If so, do you have it mounted at 12, 3,6, or 9? And what distance did you zero?

My 8AG Flex is on a G19, and my 8A is on an HK SP5K at 3 o’clock, but I am only using it in light mode, as I haven’t had time to mess with the laser zero.

I got my 8AG in yesterday. This sucker is TINY. Trying to decide on mounting options. Putting it at 12 o'clock was the plan, possibly even zeroing for "flat" with the barrel to be offset at 25 yards, but now I'm not sure I'll be able to mount it at 12 and still see over my as-yet-un-purchased optic. The laser appears to sit about 2.25" above bore when mounted at 12 o'clock.
