I think the real reason that Sanders and Warren and others of their ilk promise free education, forgiveness of student debt, free medical etc is to get votes from both ends of the age spectrum. Period.
Then, like everyone that came before them and got into the oval office, they can renege on their promises and when challenged come up with some creative bullshit explanation which will blame someone else for their failure.
Same as it ever was.

This is exactly what the American left is about. He is just a perfect illustration. Nothing new. The left has always been this way. Majority of totalitarian regimes of the last 100 years have been on the left contrary to what the NYT is saying.
Old school blue Democrats no longer represent the party. It did not happen over night of course. The Democratic party of America should be renamed to the Communist Party. They need to finally embrace it.

Agreed on the broad ideology of the far left but the point was the video's represented as a "gotcha, evil henchman admits the real plan!" and it isn't -- it's a drunk or stoned or terminally stupid dude spouting off.

Two thoughts.
1. Sometimes, these Veritas drops build over the release cycle. Sometimes not. I'll be interested to see the next installments.

b. Bernie has a paid staffer saying some troubling things, that nevertheless will sound totally fine to a chunk of his base. So, what's a grumpy old communist to do? Fire the person? Ignore it? Give him a raise? I'll be mildly interested to see what Bernie says/does, and whether the incurious media presses him.
Bernie won’t appreciate this disruption of his message.
