Size: 26.1 KBWhats up everyone. I just purchased my first gun a few days ago. Its a smith and wesson model 67 38 special. Its a beautiful gun and I love the way it shoots I’m just really curious about when it was manufactured. Ive done a bit of research and I think its in the ballpark of ‘73-‘80. If anyone has any information on this gun I would love to learn more about it. There are pictures attached to this post. Also the serial number is 3K60160. Let me know if any other specific pictures would help because if they will I will post. Any information on this gun at all would help as I would like to learn more in general about it!

You Sir couldn't have made a better revolver purchase. Model 67s are gems. Accurate, powerful and easy to shoot and to carry. I have a Model 15 made during the same era that I love; but I'm always looking for a Model 67 to go with it!

The Standard Catalog of Smith and Wesson 3rd Edition says your gun was made in 1972. As a matter of practice/etiquette, it's a bad idea to post full serial numbers of guns you are checking on in a public forum. Replace the last two to four digits with Xs and you'll be GTG.

Your 67 was made the year the model was introduced and is a stainless version of the Model 15 Combat Masterpiece. They were very popular as issue revolvers for agencies that wanted adjustable sights. Model 15s and 67s are prized revolvers by those in the know! Enjoy it!

Excellent first gun. A lot of people do not find the standard factory grips to be comfortable for shooting, so if you find yourself in that position, there are loads of options out there to consider.

Your silver rear sight is an indication that this was an early one. Great gun, I started with a equivalent Model 15 way back in 1973.

I have a 4" Model 67 as well. It is a great deal of fun to shoot. It handles very well also.
