    Painting a slide

While working with my Sirt I noticed that if I had my front sight too high I’d catch a glimpse of the red slide and have a visual cue to clean up the sights.

I’d like to put an idiot mark on the top of the slide of some of my real pistols but would like it to be removable if possible in case I ever need to sell (not planning on it but stuff happens). I’ve seen @HeadHunter mention it doing it on his snubs so that if he sees any color other than orange he knows his sight alignment is bad.

Any ideas on what I could use on the slide that wouldn’t cause permanent damage? I’m ok with retouching the paint as needed.

Nail polish. Degrease the slide first cover with a clear coat. Acetone will take it back off. A base coat of white is better usually but not needed in my experience.
