Interesting, I thought the Grendel was more of a long(er) barrel round. I might have to dig deeper into that...

Tom Beckstrand is an advocate of the 6.5G in an SBR setup I believe. I think he reviewed an Alexander Arms gun that was 11 or 12" setup. I can't recall correctly but something like that. Long Tabber with a ton of experience, I think he also did a video on the Sig version of the Fix. Maybe find his youtube channel.

ETA found his review of one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7TQBiPs_8w

I have a 9" 300BO SBR and been looking at the S&B supersonic ammo for plinking purposes. Any particular reason to go with 124 over 147 or vice versa?

I ran 110 TAC TX and 110gr GMX, the Magtech 123gr stuff is what I settled on because it shot close enough to the 110 stuff for good practice out to 250 yards or so if I recall correctly. Not really sure about the S&B stuff as it was dirty as heck so I didn't shoot it much. The Magtech was really pretty clean and shot great in comparison to everything else I tried besides being accurate and pretty close to the POA/POI of my chosen defense/hunting load. If you have good velocity numbers you can find the BC. I would then play with a ballistics app to see where things coalesce then check them in the real world. I played with using zeros from 125 yards to 175 to minimize hold over because I wanted to keep within about 4" vertical dispersion to my furthest shots. 200 and in is where the 300 BO really shines from my experience. 123 gr stuff should be just fine to 250 yards or so.

    That is an interesting graphic.

So, how does the .300 BO compare to those with a projectile of the same mass?
