The holosun 407C auto adjust has been great for indoor/outdoor shooting so far.

It hasn't worked well for dry fire, as the lighting in my room is dramatically different between being in the holster and extended. I will manually adjust for that purpose only, and go back to auto when I'm done with a dry fire session.

For context, the dot is on a range gun while I learn the system, it isn't carried yet.

My experience compared to some here a bit limited, but I’ve worked with the RMR2 and ACRO. I’ve committed to the ACRO for carry, and monitor the battery and intensity. If the weapon goes to secure storage, e.g., yesterday(not working), ACRO off. Last night, on retiring, unit on; level 7 seems right for low light/weapon light (TLR7A) in house. This AM, bumped to 8 for ride to work. If it were sunny outside, 9.
I’ve seen auto adjust go low, and I prefer to go to manual. YMMV. Pretty much an individual decision, methinks
