That speedloader was for a GP100 or 6 Shot L-frame. I am not sure how the Comp-3 sizes run, but HKS carries a separate size specifically for a Python.

So does Safariland, I have some for my Official Police. Mine are Comp IIs, I don't think they make Comp IIIs for the Python.
I kinda doubt that Colt expected the new Python to be used for carry or competition, so they deemed speedloader clearance to be irrelevant.
My 686 Comp II's & III's are a no-go in my Python (old vintage). HKS will work (kinda) but are seriously suboptimal. I wouldn't use them except for goofing at the range.
There are comp IIs for the Python specifically.

I remember about 15 years ago when 3” Python barrels were available for about $60. A 3” Smython would be awesome.
